Kira Kosnick

Imperfect Utopias: Nightlife and the Challenges of Inequality

Kira Kosnick is Professor of Comparative Social and Cultural Anthropology and Director of the Research Center B/Orders in Motion at the Europa University Frankfurt (Oder). Before her appointment in 2020, she held a professorship for Sociology at Goethe University Frankfurt for ten years. She received her academic training in the United States at the New School for Social Research in New York, and has worked as an academic and researcher in the United Kingdom and Turkey. Her thematic expertise centers on migration studies, nightlife, gender and sexuality with a particular interest in intersectional perspectives and approaches.
